Emily the Strange was the first global brand I worked on at my first job with Atomic Fashion Marketing in 2006. I was hired as a commercial illustrator and designer based on sketches I had included for a graphic novel I was working on that shared aesthetic qualities of the Emily brand. In my first 2 weeks on the job, I spent most of my days drawing Emily in various scenarios that would be suitable for merchandising and marketing material. My time at Atomic was very much a learning period where I had many opportunities to grow and experiment with ideas as we worked on some exciting global lifestyle / streetwear brands.
