Empress magazine is a publication/platform where encouragement and empowerment never lacks. This magazine was shaped as a result of mainstream media creating a culture of self-hate within females with ethnic backgrounds. Empress focuses on everything mainstream publications fail to stand for which is celebrating the talents and lives of ethnic individuals as well as uplifting them meaning we accept contributor created content. Using real people and real stories, Empress likes to make it clear that no matter what readers are not alone and decipher the importance in self-love. Please note: Prototype created for University Project.
Issue One - Life Before The Madness
Focusing on Activist art, we analyse the choices made within government and its consequence on younger generations and those of BAME identities. One out of many ideologies, anti-immigration is reinforced throughout the UK by older generations, so how does social demonstration force us to engage with society/current affairs and influence the mass? Is history simply repeating itself?
