(4 weeks, teams of four, HFT Charity client led project.) Design a device or group of devices that help monitor the location of clients with complex needs such as dementia living independently or in shared assisted living.
The design consists of a three part set; a sensor, a hub, and an application.
The Sensor - It’s in-built motion sensor is triggered by movement which activates the facial recognition sensor. This then identifies the user. If the user is trying to access the wrong room the device relays gentle reminders to encourage them not to enter. The device enables the user to live more independently and reduces the cost of care.
The Hub - Using algorithms the hub builds up patterns of behaviour that once broken the carer is notified via the application.
The Application - Using info-graphic data from the clients behaviour patterns, the carer easily identifies activity within the home, confirming that there is no need for assistance.
