End Girl

Third year final project for my BA hons in Fashion Journalism at UCA. A magazine aimed at "Misunderstood Teens that Know What Feminism Means", tackling taboo subjects and feminism in a way that is digestible for a younger reader. Teenage girls are more curious and aware than ever thanks to social media, so I set out to create a publication that reinvented the bubble-gum sweet, sugar coated teen mags that are slowly ceasing to exist in the modern day. The premise of End Girl is to #EndGirlHate and is built on the foundations of women empowering women. Our contributors are made up entirely of women.

Front cover illustrated and commissioned by @becky.davies.design ! She recently worked with h0t blush magazine and won a design competition for Lucy&Yak
Illustration commisioned by @beeillustrates who worked recoently with Polyester magazine and Vaginomics. Commissioning and supporting female illustrators is something we strive to do at End Girl. We believe creative arts are important and we are pasionate about amplifying female voices.
An interview with Pheobe Godwin, an instagram positiviy influencer. We love her positive attitude and political awareness.
We adapted and tailored a lot of our content as the maority of our publication ended up being curated during UK lockdown.
@victoriabarrell_photo collaborated with us to showcase her "facetime" photo series; pictures taken over the phone from models' respective homes during quarantine.
Collaborated with @catanna_trends who recently got shortlisted for the sustainability award for GFF. Her project focuses on opening up the conversation surrounding periods alongside launching a sustainable period underwear brand called GAL.
