Equal Futures

  • Francie Martinez

Perceptions of job roles are encouraged from a young age through toys, clothes and language. After asking 100 children to draw four different job roles, the results show an almost accurate translation of existing female and male dominated professions. Equal Futures aims to change these stereotypes by raising awareness through printed tea towels, which showcase 100 children’s drawings based on four job roles; Firefighter, Dancer, Midwife and Astronaut. These will be created by and sold at schools with the proceeds going towards funding gender neutral education.
