Eve Shepherd: Blood & Bone

  • Christopher Spring
This is the exhibition I was probably most proud of being a part of. Eve Shepherd is one of the most talented sculptors in Brighton and part of the Royal Society for British Sculptors. To have her show in the gallery was a real honour, with the curation for the exhibition having a real focus on highlighting the unique processes behind her sculptures.
We had to balance this show delicately, due to the fragility of her scuptures and the limited space in the gallery we ensured that each plinth was securely fastened to the floor and created mini plinths which sat within the piece we could to make sure that there was extra security to prevent breakage.
The exhibition was featured in the Guardian Guide as a listing and received critical acclaim from We Love Brighton, The Argus and VIVA Brighton.
We hosted our private view that evening which was attended by many of the movers and shakers from the Brighton art world, being complimented for showing "an artist whose artwork wouldn't usually be found in Brighton galleries". This was always our ethos; to showcase the best artists in Brighton regardless of price point and medium and to work with an artist as accomplished as this was a real honour.
Below you can see photos of the exhibition/some of the private view night, but also hear an interview that I did for PRBH Radio.
