Concrete Matters is less about each work as a stand-alone piece, but more about building our own path in the city that demonstrates different aspects and routes of our urban lives.Constructing our own geographical environment to study how they can affect behaviours and emotions.Psychogeography is both engaging and disturbing and through these works we have created a space that has to be navigated from the fragile, the unfamiliar, the obvious and the banal. These are all themes that are present in the works of our 14 artists. We aim to let the visitor wander through and engage with our exhibition of works and public program. As this exhibition is only existent in physical form for two weeks and the performances of Lolo Hjtyu Tuyuyu for example are both temporary, I think that it echo’s the current situation of London’s constant re-generation, here one minuet and gone the next.Concrete Matters acts as a platform to use artworks, performances and talks to explore the bond between human mind and its surrounding environment.
