The Grand Ho Tram Streep Casino Resort will add additional steps to the "Exora Ho Tram by Fusion" branded condo hotel (condotel) and villa complex (pictured).
"We have initiated the development of the Exora [Phase 2] 2, which will add 512 guest rooms and 63 beach villa units to the Condotel Tower," Walt Power, chief executive of Hortram Projects Inc., said in an update to GGRAsia in response to our inquiries.
Launched at a ceremony in August, the first phase of the Ixora Tram by Fusion project includes 164 rooms and 46 beach villas in the condotel tower, with the total number of operating rooms on the entire Grand Lo Tram Streep site now over 1,300; the beachfront project is in Barria, Vungtau, in southern Vietnam.
Mr. Power also confirmed that the project's main body for the entire Grand Ho tram strip complex, which houses a casino dedicated to foreigners, had asked Vietnamese authorities to grant permission to "modify completion dates" for the entire project "in ″ 2027." Such measures were reported by Vietnamese media last week.
A representative of the project company explained to GGRAsia, "We have submitted a request to revise the completion date due to the impact of COVID-19 in Vietnam during the period 2020 to 2022."
"While impacted by the pandemic, the Hortram project is very proud of its continued development progress during this challenging time."
He also said: "I must stress that the Hortram project is now fully compliant with our investment certificate, including capital investment requirements, tourism construction requirements and development schedule requirements."
Mr Power observed: "The overall size of the project, including capital reinvestment and tourism elements, has not been modified within this request for correction."
Currently, the nearest international airport to the Grand Ho Tram Strip is in Ho Chi Minh City, about a 2.5 hour drive from the property. Mr. Power mentioned last year that a new airport closer to the complex was under construction at the GGRA, and the Grand Ho Tram Strip has also attracted foreigners based in Vietnam.
