Stuart's collection began with an exploration into film photography and centres around the idea of distortion through the intervention of the surroundings, such as; glass structures, fences and people. With a focus on line, texture, shape and depth Stuart explores the contrast between the structural lines and abstract fluidity both in his research and through a combination of traditional and contemporary embroidery techniques. Using both conventional and unconventional materials he has translated these qualities into textiles.
