This was definitely the most interesting experience I've had shooting! Collaborating with Rosie (@rambosphotos) is always so much fun. We go beyond limits and bounce ideas off of each other until we've exceeded what we set out to achieve. This look was the last of three we had shot that day. The initial pouring of the blood was slightly daunting. That's why I loved it. I wasn't in my comfort zone doing my rehearsed poses on a sunny day out in London, I was in studio, exploring a completely new style. The little bit of hesitancy of "hold on, do I actually just chuck this all over my head right now?!" told me I was on the edge of my comfort zone. Outside of this zone is a place I desire to explore. I want to learn; I want to improve. Strangely, I've never felt so comfortable in front of the camera?! I think the expression and story telling mode switched on in my brain and all of a sudden I was immersed into character. Acting is something that has always came naturally to me and my training in theatre has catalysed this. From this photoshoot, I have realised how much I love expressive shoots over typical commercial concepts and how acting is a potential path that is likely best suited to me. I've also learned that cheap fake blood from Poundland stains your skin for approximately 2 days. But hey ho, it was worth it: the shots turned out great!
