The Rose Family The first family to take part in this project documenting Star Wars families in the UK is my own. I was first introduced to Star Wars the same time as my older sister. We both saw it with my mother and father when they original trilogy was re released in cinemas in the 90s. From the moment Darth Vader stepped onto the rebel ship, we were hooked and Star Wars has become a firm family favourite and tradition within our household. My father collected the Kenner Star Wars toys, which then became our toys and now mine. In 2011 my father passed away, and Star Wars became something beyond the movies. Something that kept us close despite being with us anymore. The photographs which follow are from time at my family home, speaking to my family about Star Wars, their connections to the movies and memories of my late father and his special connection to the movies.
