This was my contribution to a Womenswear X Jewellery Design collaboration project we were assigned last year. The concept of our project stems from the fear of aging and an attempt to "preserve" our youth. The bodice consists of gilded copper that has been hand-forged to the form of a woman's torso, the arm cuffs acting as a brace-like structure to maintain and prevent the wearer from slouching or hunching over (often a symptom of old age). The frayed edges of the bodice representing the sagging of aged skin in contrast to the pristine, taut center.
