Fekete Zaj Festival is in a way my most beloved child - it's all started in 2010 when I was just a visitor there, but since 2018 I've became the festival's one and only graphic designer with the opportunity to completely reshape their whole visual identity and managing it from head to toe on a year-to-year basis. This year we've tried to come up with a concept which resembles not just the surroundings of the venue like the very dense forest and the highest sitting natural lake of Hungary, but also mixes it with an underlying layer coming from the perception of music, creating a visual that can be either be deciphered as forest or a mountain of soundwaves - it's all up to your point of view. The 2022 edition included a very wild variety of things like various posters, wristbands, stage projections, merchandise, maps, booklets, recups, pins, a complete marketing kit with modular social media posts and all sorts of things. About Fekete Zaj: it's a small, underground music festival deep in the mountains of Matra - Hungary, mostly featuring underground artists from the electronic - post-punk - new-wave - goth - industrial - scandinavian metal music scene, like Kælen Mikla, Godflesh, Boy Harsher, She Past Away, Isolated Youth, Thy Catafalque, Ic3peak, etc - except Lana Del Rey. If you are curious about the earlier iteriations and would like the see the evolution of this project, you can find all of what we've done since 2018 here.
