Make up by Cat Pinto. “In this story, I tried to explore the cliché plot of a newly married couple on their honeymoon with the murder twist, but making it queer and applying the parallels between a young and femme boy and an older and “masculine” counterpart. This created a platform that allowed me to use the story as a critic of the binary way to act and dress that society forces upon people and as critic to the toxic masculinity in the gay community, starting with the name, femme4femme, as a response to the ‘masc4masc’ culture. Aesthetic-wise, I was inspired by the horror movie ‘Psycho’, Rihanna’s ‘BBHMM’ music video, Palomo Spain collections and queer culture and fashion. ” says Diogo Pinto.
