Festival of Audacity 2018 with BBZ London Rave

Festival Of Audacity is a multidisciplinary festival of activist art making all of Birmingham its stage from Thursday 27th - Saturday 29th September. Festival of Audacity exists because for art to have a real impact, it needs to be bold. We want to make space for young creators to take risks and reach people beyond traditional arts venues. After almost a year of planning, over 100 applications, and an unfathomable amount of meetings, we are so excited to introduce you to the programme. Enjoy. Share. Most importantly, have fun exploring new spaces, discovering new art, and seeing the city differently. Festival Of Audacity spans three days; kicking off on Thursday with Pass The Mic and HEADSPVCE X BLAB, followed by a selection of artists performing throughout the city centre, disrupting traditional spaces and making the city their stage on Friday and Saturday. The Tour: The primary way to see everything is to join us on The Tour, on either Friday 28th or Saturday 29th from 12 til 4:30pm. It's a guided walking trip through Birmingham with stops at each festival act. The tour is led by BAIT*, with exclusive performances in between stops and plenty of time to pause and rest when needed. Please note: We will begin promptly at New Street Station, and end on Moat Lane in Digbeth. You can join the tour at the halfway mark or stick around for the whole journey. There will be access support during the whole tour including spare wheelchairs. Please let us know if you require one before the tour. 1st stop: New Street Station (Meeting point), Lanre Malaolu "Figure" and DYSPLA "Fight" 2nd stop: Outside New St Station, Duncan Robertson "Where Does Joga Come From" 3rd Stop: Rag Market, Liz Ord "Are You Thirsty" 4th Stop: Hurst St, Maconchy String Quartet "Maestras: Centre Stage" 5th Stop: Cow Birmingham, Louise & Kia Yee "Sentry" 6th Stop: Zellig, Edalia Day "Too Pretty To Punch" Artists: The tour will feature work from Duncan Robertson, DYSPLA, Edalia Day, Lanre Malaolu, Liz Ord, louise and kia yee, Maconchy String Quartet and BAIT*. *Birmingham Artivists In Training: a group of multi disciplinary art activists from Birmingham. They will be guiding you on the tour as well as providing ‘entertainment’, or provocations, as they like to call it through different ways. More Festival Of Audacity Events That Aren't A Part Of The Tour: HEADSPVCE X BLAB: Festival Of Audacity, Thursday 27th - A space for you to perform, relax and debate - we're bringing together two of our biggest events, BLAB and HEADSPVCE for a special edition crossover at Festival Of Audacity. Expect teepees, performances, workshops and food; alongside special guest panelists answering the question of the night: "Does Art Endanger Your Mental Health". Get your tickets here: blabxheadspvce.eventbrite.co.uk Hungry: Friday 28th & Saturday 29th, 12pm, 3pm & 6.15pm - Hungry is another, more structured rendition of this – this time with ten participants at a time. The performance takes place over breakfast, lunch and dinner, where we all make the meal together (different participants each time OR people can choose to come again). The aim is to talk about our porn habits honestly, openly and with true objective insight.
