FIKA

  • Sarah Bagner

Creating a layered sculptural form by deconstructing the ingredients and emotions of a snack, Photographer Aaron Graubart and Stylist Sarah Bagner set out to explore the idea of a “conceptual sandwich”. Beginning with the idea of Fika* the project explores the rough and beautiful textures of cracker breads, with exposed plaster walls, rough floorboards and the faded romance of wilted flowers. * "Fika is a concept, a state of mind, an attitude and an important part of Swedish culture. Many Swedes consider that it is almost essential to make time for fika every day. It means making time for friends and colleagues to share a cup of coffee (or tea) and a little something to eat” - John Duxbury www.swedishfood.com
