SHORTLISTED for the Graduate Fashion Week Technical Drawing Award 2020. For AW21 curved panelling is cut and contrasted with opposing shapes and gathers, playing with different weights and tones of denim. It’s all about the contrast between shapes, colours and form. Curved panelling is a consistent feature created through intricate pattern adaptation and placement. Oversized silhouettes are cut and joined in so many places such as yokes, two-tone collars, curved facings and two-piece sleeves. Light blue chambray is cut into pieces that are gathered to fit on two-piece sleeves, trousers legs, pockets and yokes. Sandwiched together, indigo denim runs through each design outlining panels and facings, contrasting with the medium blue denim and light blue chambray. Voluminous silhouettes are layered over western style plaid shirts, with the mix of gradual blue tones and brown and cream checks, an iconic western combination. Aimed at women looking for more flare and difference in their denim wardrobe, this trans seasonal collection offers unique pieces that are wearable and timeless. Lifting denim from its classic blue jean connotations ‘Even cowgirls get the blues’ brings new life to the classic cloth and western scene.
