Final Major Project

I am influenced and inspired by nature. My FMP explored Biophilia as
 a way to enhance wellbeing within both the home and workspaces, 
through a combination of Somebana techniques, hand embroidery, embellishments, hand-painted, liquid embroidery and freestanding lace. Whimsical Cottage Garden and Bamboo and Birds are two examples of the series of participatory pieces with volunteers that opened their gardens to me.
 From my observations, I created bespoke personalised transparent drapes that allow the design and fabric to blend, encapsulating the feeling of the 
view through windows and bringing the outside in 365 days a year. The 
addition of moveable, delicate yet tactile insects added a playful
 interactive element within the vibrant design supporting positive
engagement and wellbeing.
 I also made lampshades to complement the series.
