Final Major Project Outcome with AR Animation

https://www.behance.net/gallery/80318021/Final-Major-Project Student Work // Final Major Project 2019 For my final major project, I created an A1 poster that explores my dissertation: 'Cultural Appropriation in Contemporary Visual Culture: A Discussion of Kim Kardashian West'. The design allows users to scan aspects of the poster to reveal augmented reality animations. These after effects animations appear on a digital devise when an audience member scans an aspect of my final major project outcome. The animation featuring the quote “depicted in an animalistic, hyper sexualised manner”, relates to the idea of distortion, and how the themes and suggestions regarding race can be seen as distorted and misleading resulting in cultural appropriation. The animation featuring ‘CA, Cultural Appropriation’ relates to the idea of assumptions from the media coming into contact with people and then disappearing, leaving an unrealistic, biased and stereotypical representation of race. Once the opinion and assumption is with the public, the meaning and history of the original context is lost, which happens with the exploited race that falls peril to the consequences of cultural appropriation.
