Final Major Project - Swim with Joyce - SS/2020

Vintage and contemporary elements have been merged together to create, ‘Swim with Joyce’ SS/2020 resort wear collection. Inspired by my grandmother; Joyce, and her beach photographs and slides. This has developed elegant, timeless, modest and smart silhouettes with soft, tactile layers. A range of loosely woven, textured, lightweight Cottons and Linens have been used, to keep the wearer cool and provide comfort, which is ideal for a resort wear collection. Mint Blue, Mango Orange, Banana, Vivid Yellow and White are the main colours used to represent a cheerful and fun beach environment. I have taken a digital approach to my collection, using Lectra and Clo3d, to reduce fabric waste, as patterns are more accurate and can be fitted to a virtual avatar, to reduce the number of toiles being made.
