Final Major Project - The Madison Collection

Brand Ethos: Inspired by individual consumers and elements of which they desire within their fashion purchases, Mabel looks to the evident change in the couture market and delivers a remarkable service and experience to break the stereotypes within bespoke design. Focusing on a niche market within womenswear, Mable designs garments that are representative of a single consumers identity through textiles techniques such as; embellishment, embroidery and print. When designing garments consideration to detail and intricate design are at the core of Mabel’s brand values. Aiming to create one final look which can then be separated into single items to become different outfits. Mood: ‘An artist should never be a prisoner of himself, a prisoner of a reputation, a prisoner of success.’ Celebrating the beauty of art through the exploration of textiles, Mabel has created a collection inspired by Henri Matisse’s artwork. Focusing primarily on the art he produced in the final decade of his life the ‘Madison’ collection is influenced by Mattise’s ‘cut-outs’ work. The use of shapes and colour within his art has influenced the prints and palette for the final designs and has inspired a personalised and experimental collection for the customer.
