Font designed for the feminist library. The font concept is inspired by the Library’s archive of feminist protest banners: folded ribbon stitched onto fabric to create letterforms.
The font is specifically designed for the Feminist Library’s new site in Peckham, which they will be moving to later this year (the Sojourner Truth Community Centre, 161 Summer Road, Peckham). The typeface will appear on the Library’s new visual identity, and on all its fundraising materials. We’ve even plans to make a new flag! The principles of the identity are simple; they can be readily communicated so that all materials will have a similar look without brand guidelines having to be rigidly enforced.
