Interning at Mirjam Rouden textile studio over the past six months has been a great learning curve. An introduction into the fast paced commercialism of design for fashion textiles, and all it has to offer. Producing floral prints for mainstream fashion is not my natural design aesthetic, however embracing a new challenge and the opportunity to grow my skillset is. These hand drawn florals are trend focused for SS18, as the subject matter is a safe design choice, no matter the era or uncertainty of the industries climate. This collection showcases small florals with a minimal finish, are frequently printed to prospective clients and are available for purchase. Keep a look out for a design or two sold to a major retailer, and global fashion player across both mainstream and luxury projects.
