Flow shower system - finalist of Roca Jumpthegap 2017 contest

Flow is a shower system based on different way of delivering the water – pouring it in a bigger portions. This provides a new, refreshing experience, not available by now in our bathrooms; a sensation which resembles swimming in a pool or bathing in a river. Most of all, it’s a way to acknowledge the amount of water spilled by our shower.

You can put the showerhead aside to soap hair or body. For some time the water is gathered, not wasted. Putting aside the showerhead is easy and intuitive; the base is shaped to hold it in the right position just above the vases.
The vases are easy to put back in their positions by the wall – just hang them between two paralell pieces, whose shape won’t let them slip. Three smaller vases have the width around 7-8 cm in the most narrow place, to enable direct grip.
The water from the vases can be used to wash the soap out quickly. It can be poured from the vase in a small stream, a wide flow, or... a splash! Pouring or splashing a bigger amount of water on our body is a surprising and intense feeling. A sense of abundance. By giving the user a simple, manual control over water, a new kind of playfulness is introduced.
Flow can be used for washing the body, as well as for interaction and play, when there’s more than one person taking the shower. Kids or couples can use this shower system for pouring each other with water.
The water containers vary in shapes – and different volumes as well. The heavier ones have the handles to support more stable grip. Different shapes or different filling level can be also used for making various sounds when poking the vases. The sound of water is one of the greatest pleasures of the shower; this system makes it richer and more diverse - with less water waste.
