FMP: Adversity

Due to COVID-19 and lockdown, my plans for my original documentary Idea was halted. However, as I say in the documentary, I had "fallen out of love with creativity" so I was not achieving anything with that idea. As bad as it sounds, I see the timing of lockdown a blessing in disguise, as it allowed me to reevaluate my documentary and myself but also connect with other creatives to have this conversation about an issue many creatives face in their professional career but why now has been more difficult than ever. DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT This documentary started as a problem that I saw as being my own, however, with the use of community by talking to other creatives, I learned that I was not on my own. Which pushed me to make this documentary, as I realised quickly, a lot of creatives have been dealing with similar feelings during this pandemic. Throughout the documentary, three themes are covered: Mental Health, Environment, and Community. I wanted to highlight the importance of these themes and how they might affect a creative, maybe without them even noticing. I think that it is important for creatives to have conversations about these issues as I learned a lot from talking to people. Additionally, It also felt good to connect with people and share similar stories. https://youtu.be/mVgB0qAu6-U
