The idea behind this four-part events series I worked on for Patterns in Brighton was that the long-standing residents of the club invite an artist they have a particular connection with to join them in the DJ booth. In simpler terms, the focus was on Brighton's talent as much as it was on the other artist. I had the idea that the artwork would subtly hint at Brighton, the imagery used is of seaside-relevant photos that are blurred as to be candid and not cringeworthy. The lines and arrows featured play on the focal point in photography. The brief for the still and animated artwork pieces were bought to life by Lawrie Miller (https://instagram.com/lawrie.miller). The first two parties featured Charles Green inviting Ryan Elliott and Mehtola inviting Willow, the second two events feature Charles and Mehtola inviting Shanti Celeste and Skee Mask respectively. Thanks to booking agencies Ostgut Ton, Octopus, POLY and VVA for helping make these events happen. This was a particularly personal project for me.
