Football Tarot Card : Diego Maradona

Finally had a few hours to put the finishing touches to the throne belonging to arguably the greatest player to every grace the game. An absolute honour to be amongst the crazy-good talent submitting artwork for the #footytarot2022 project - the brainchild of Creative Director https://the-dots.com/users/jason-gomez-322740 who has brought together 83 artists to produce work that will be sold to aid refugee initiatives. The King of Wands description seems to be written for the late Diego Armando Maradona- depicting a man whose blossoming wand represented energy, charisma, creativity and life's passion, whilst also being a leader of men. His throne is decorated with the salamander and the lion; which are symbols of fire and strength and also a nod to his greatest achievement - winning the 1986 #fifaworldcup for his country - knocking out the three Lions along the way with what is regarded as the 'Goal of the Century'. El Pibe de Oro's hand glows referencing the notorious Hand of God goal that ensured wrath of the English players. "A little with the head of Maradona and a little with the hand of God" The King of Wands is not without his demons and impulsiveness, but the club banners that hang in the background will fondly remember Maradona as one of their own.
