Forth Valley College’s prospectus is the flagship document for driving recruitment and raising awareness and perception. This year’s prospectus aimed to capture the imaginations of prospective generation Z students as well as integrate a striking visual style. Research showed that Generation Z value authenticity and flexibility, are digitally native and highly purpose driven. This means their trajectory is less likely to be traditional working patterns and may look more flexible in working environment or working hours. Their high levels of aspirational thinking about work also means they want their work to have lasting meaning. In order to achieve this deeper sense of meaning, illustrative concepts which moved away from depictions of literal working environments such as artists painting and business people at a computer. Instead, the essence of the subjects areas were depicted such as artists creating and exploding with ideas and business people analysing and exercising critical decision making. Academic and marketing content was provided by college departments and collated into pleasing layouts and incorporated into the style of the document. This piece of work was completed during a time of employment at Forth Valley College.
