Fragile Bodies: The External Body

  • Indigo Macey

Exploring the bodies fragility through it’s flesh appearance, as well as experimenting with anatomy and make-up I researched the body through a series of intimate and textural black and white photos. Photographing skin and body parts in water creates more tones and textures within the image, making the naked body more unrecognisable. When deciding on which parts of the body I wanted to experiment with were the more fragile aspects like joints, bones, sensitive or hidden areas of the body. As well as drawing attention to subtle gender differences, and the beauty within the shapes of the human form.
