Freelance Interior Designer for a boutique hotel in South Kensington - close to launching

  • Charlie Fleet

Started off with creating Pinterest boards for a small family run hotel, that as a team, was over stretched. After creating the boards and sharing them, I was then invited on a zoom in early march 2021 and then brought in as an in-house designer, fitting out a refurb of a 14 room boutique hotel in South Kensington. Work included: Researching a wide range of products, including wall and floor tiles, paints, bathroom fixtures and fittings, lighting, bedroom furniture, curtains, ect as well as outside decking. Creating individual room designs inspired by 3 particular styles. Colours, shades and tones used to create ambient and relaxed environments. Reception room designs as well as hall area. New tile designs created for each particular bathroom that suited the room style. As you can see below, using Mosa (cradle to cradle) tiles as a mosaic style pattern (used in 3 of the rooms). As well as the brick design, using white, pale blue and sage. Hotel signage discussed. Attended regular shows including Decorex and The Hotel Show as well as individual meetings with various companies. In a sister Hotel, created designs for new hall interior as well as exterior entrance tiles. Due to the fact that I'm extremely passionate about sustainability, I offered and pushed environmentally friendly/ cradle to cradle led products when possible. The project for me lasted about 1 year.
