Friday Late: Ruins

A performance film made by contemporary dance company FUBUNATION (Rhys Dennis and Waddah Sinada) and filmmakers 3000Ceanhill (Donnie Sunshine, Ricky Rose and Sannchia Gaston) shot in the empty galleries of the V&A for the first online Friday Late.

RUINS
Premiered 30 October 2020
19.30

Ruins explores the balance between conflict, vulnerability and co-dependency, using dance and film to address the myth of masculinity as it is felt within the Pan-African diaspora. The work creates a space for the black male figure to be more visible and honestly represented in its full complexity, giving powerful testimony to the generational trauma inherited by men from marginalised groups.

FUBUNATION is a London-based dance company founded in 2017 by Rhys Dennis and Waddah Sinada with the aim to increase visibility for artists of colour in contemporary dance.

Ricky Rose, Donnie Sunshine and Sannchia Gaston as 3000CeanHill, showcase the alternative Black British experience through film, photography and music.
