Fulfilling Lives - National Lottery

We worked with The National Lottery Community Fund and the Fulfilling Lives project to find authentic human stories that focused on individuals who had lived experience of multiple issues including addiction, mental health issues, homelessness and prison. We chose a mixed media route for the films, using shot material, animation and photos to bring alive a story that for the contributors was a very difficult one to tell. None of them had been on camera before so it was as much about building a relationship and respecting their experience as it was about making a creatively interesting film. The films were highly effective and the feedback from people working in the field as well as the contributors themselves was incredible, reminding us that these films were not about the problems people face but about finding hope and optimism in the toughest of circumstances.
