In May 2016 I organised a film night fundraiser to raise money for a legal centre to operate at Grande Synthe refugee camp in Dunkirk. This included venue locating (capacity 60), ticketing, making individual goody bags and managing all aspects of the event on the night.
I was determined to ensure all money raised went directly to the cause which meant I had little budget to play with. I set about sourcing donations from exciting companies across London to help make the night a success. I worked with Aesop, ITB, Nomad Cinema, Karma Cola and The Pig Hotel among others.
In total I raised £1,900, which was above my target of £1,500. This was down to ticket sales (the event sold out) and an auction of promises with entirely donated prizes.
