FUTURE HUMANS (MASQUERADE)

This project was born out of rejected sketches for a project related to "work futures" where I was researching potential solutions for a logo, to represent the "Human of the future" that was supposed to potentially shape the brand. From a first temptation to create this "Future human" the whole idea about this little Animal - Robot - Human concept emerged & started developing (still being in the process). This imaginary project includes the element of dynamic fun, movement, play, experiment, a sense of ritual. These creatures are happy & childish while being at the same time serious & hypnotic! I was interested in experimenting with simple geometric forms, creating dynamic shapes out of basic elements such as circle, triangle, square by cutting and collaging them in most bold, weird, and non-obvious ways. On the more symbolical grounds, these faces = masks (nowadays inevitably so present in our lives) are evoking archetypes, history, feeling of the shared experience of our ancestors, etc. Humanity caught within cultural narratives and social meanings with multiple interpretations.
