"Future Visions" Templar Publishing Illustration Competition
This is my entry for the 2020 Templar Publishing Illustration competition. I chose to enter the Big Picture Press non-fiction brief, which was to create a full colour artwork spread inspired by the theme of "future visions".
I decided to base my spread on Neuralink, and how this technology holds the potential to make concepts such as telepathy a real thing in the future. The concept of my illustration was inspired by the dot-to-dot drawings I loved to do as a child, and I used this this 'connecting the dots' idea to illustrate the metaphorical connection of humans and the ability to communicate through this brain-implant technology. Visually, I was inspired by 70's sci-fi posters and artwork, with their mix of surreal content and realistic art style.
