Gaia

Gaia – A new sustainable typeface.

Gaia is a new sustainable typeface that uses less ink and therefore electricity when printing. This is due to the pixel size being half the normal amount in a standard typeface.

The name Gaia dervives from Dr James Lovelock, who's theory posits that the organic and inorganic components of Planet Earth have evolved as a sustainable system.

Gaia is a modern typeface that will use modern technology that is available today to determine legibility at text and display sizes. The embedded software in our phones, tablets and laptops will automatically thicken up the stroke as the point size gets smaller so Gaia still remains legible on any device.

With the pixel size being around 50% smaller than a normal typeface it also means the amount of electricity and ink used when printing is around 50% less too. With this in mind it means that each ink cartridge will last twice as long due to the reduced amount of ink being used.
