Synopsis:
2013 marked the year female gamers overtook male gamers in numbers. This included casual gamers, which usually means people who play games on their smartphones, tablets or consoles. The video game industry is every changing and this documentary caught the beginning of the surge of feminism in gaming.
This documentary looks into the term gamer girls/girl gamer. It looks at female representation in video games (visually and character), it looks at how female gamers are treated online and offline, it tackles stereotypes gamers face and how the gaming industry is changing to accommodate more female gamers.
This documentary was successfully screened at the Knickerbox film festival in New York
