Mental health is important now more than ever. Affecting 7 million people’s lives in the UK, agoraphobia is linked to a social anxiety disorder where sufferers avoid enclosed, open and crowded spaces. Agoraphobics fear escape may be difficult and help will not be readily available. The app ‘giffgaff gotU’ is empowering those who struggle with agoraphobia to leave any situation before panic kicks in. 5G is utilised to instantly detect when users are in an environment they perceive as triggering. The app sends users notifications to redirect them to their closest preselected safe space, whilst considering population density.
