The collective Giuseppefraugallery (Eleonora Di Marino, Pino Giampà, Riccardo Oi) works through the fields of art and activism, experimenting with new forms of resilience and cultural resistance. It is based in the Normann mining village, in a building built at the end of the nineteenth century to house the staff of the management of the San Giovanni mine. The goal of affecting reality, stimulating the community to think of alternative and innovative forms of development, is carried out through actions and projects that know how to relate to local needs and be active in the dissemination of art itself: the most recent, the Civic School of Contemporary Art, conceived as a work of public art, is a radical pedagogy project with the mission of encouraging the encounter of the community with the specific codes, languages and professionalism of contemporary art. Completely free, deals with research and training, organises public meetings, produces works and exhibitions, develops public and social art projects, hosts artists and curators in residence. It is located in a public building in the historic city center of Iglesias, which since 2018 also houses the Small Library of Contemporary Art. The School organises periodic events such as "PUBBLICA - contemporary art meetings for the community" and "Open Lessons - public course of contemporary art". One semester a year, through a public call, a Master Class is created for artists, curators, university students and the local community.
