Giving Poetry Wings III - Part of National Arts Festival, South Africa (2020)

The 3rd edition of Giving Poetry Wings is an initiative of The Radioactive Blog, sponsored by the Creativate Digital Art Festival (A program of the National Arts Festival). This year, it turned into a virtual exhibition featuring collaborative work by 10 African artists – from South Africa and Malawi – who were selected to participate in a 5-day online workshop.

The main room is filled with large video screens, which show animated visuals to accompany each poem. Each poem can be listened to in 3D stereo sound, simply by looking at one of the screens and pressing play.
On the upstairs balcony there are also graphic artworks with further informaiton about the Giving Poetry Wings project. There original artworks are also interactive, and provide access to written descriptions and web links.
The exhibition takes place in the "White Space" gallery. This is one of Curat10n's ready made virtual spaces, with room for 20 to 50 individual artworks. It provides four distinct areas, which in this case are used to show multimedia artwork, fine art, graphic art, and exhibition branding/information.
