Gospel Representative - Strawberry Picking

The Brit School hosts the Strawberry Picking writing festival every year at the New Wimbledon Theatre. My play - Gospel Representative - is exploring the issues around gentrification in London and how this effects culture within coming generations and is currently in the rehearsal process, directed by brilliant Rebecca Sege. Tickets will be on DICE soon for the 17th and 18th of July. “Community is not a physical thing that can be built in bricks and mortar or destroyed by renovations. If that’s what you consider a community, then is it really a community at all?” In this vibrant corner of London, brighter days had never been seen. The Green is filled with life, Erykah B and Lauryn H blaring always and the aromas of home-cooked meals waft through the council flat playgrounds. The people of Notting Hill are at peace. The community has never been more united. But the one thing that could tear this neighbourhood apart, is supposedly the only thing that could save it. The council is on their doorstep.
