Gray's Graduate Fashion Show

Gray's School of Art 2018 Graduate Fashion Show

I was chosen to design this year's graduate fashion show identity and promotional materials. I created a simplistic design reminiscent of the modernist era with a contemporary tonality; this was due to the event being held within a modernist building. The simplicity of the design also allows it to compliment the diverse range of work on show, and has a fresh feel to showcase the new wave of designers.

The linear illustration comes from the curves in the stained glass windows of Trinity Hall; the venue. These lines also mimic the lines created within pattern cutting and together with the measuring tape date references the craft of fashion design. I then re-created the poster onto fabric, to also reference the tactility of the specialism. This fabric poster could then be draped in various places around the campus and city to promote the event alongside the paper based and social media promotional aspects. The fabric poster could also be photographed as part of a social media campaign as demonstrated below.
