Greenpeace UK / Plastic Free Rivers

  • Diana Costa

Greenpeace UK needed a way to promote an environmental bill against the dump of single-use plastics in British rivers.

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

In line with the launch of their most recent campaign and research — Plastic Free Rivers — Greenpeace needed a website that supporters could use to urge their local MPs to sign a pledge and back an environmental bill to limit the use of disposable plastics.

UI DESIGN PROCESS

The site acts first and foremost as a campaigning tool for the public to search if the local MP has taken a stance on the issue. Depending on the outcome, the user can reach out via email and explain why the MP should pledge, or thank them via Twitter.

The homepage features a statement and a search field on the left-hand side and an illustration on the other. When the user starts searching for their postcode, the picture disappears, and a map with the UK rivers comes up, to give some context to the research work.
