Guardians of the River

  • Anwulika Okonjo

Guardians of the River is a transformational online course led by indigenous teachers, scientists, ecologists, land justice activists, community leaders and water defenders from many nations around the world, including India, Slovakia, Brazil, Honduras, Colombia, Lebanon, and Nigeria. This community of global restorers shared somatic, spiritual, legal and practical approaches to river guardianship. As chair and community manager for the course, I hosted 2 sessions a week for 3 months in a transformational online learning journey, shaping conversation and questions for speakers, guiding the flow of the course, managing the Mighty Networks, liaising with speakers, and managing the project as a whole.
