Framestore collaborated with Activision and Freestyle Games on the re-birth of the pop culture phenomenon Guitar Hero, building an entirely new immersive experience with live-action crowds that dynamically react to the player's every move.
A huge crew, totalling 129 personnel, worked to extend the various CG environments and crowds featured in the game. The overall amount of footage was three times greater than that of a typical VFX-heavy feature film, and touched on multiple departments and specialisms within the company, including Motion Capture, Lighting, Animation, Modelling, Tracking and more.
