Gutenberg Bible

This is a response to an ISTD brief to choose one of the publications from 100 Books That Changed The World. The Gutenberg Bible became the European foundation from which sprang modern history, science, popular culture, and the emergence of the nation-state; everything by which we now define modernity. It was the first book printed using moveable type in the West. The solution is aimed to emphasise the genius and hard work of Johannes Gutenberg. It will reflect his creative decisions but also the uniqueness of each Gutenberg Bible. My response was inspired by the original features: illuminated letters, iconic title headings, drop caps, long body text and decoration elements on the margins.
