The reports and statistics that correlate social media use and mental health issues cannot be ignored. This idea of an ‘instagram lifestyle’ has created an unrealistic representation of real life, while people are comparing their personal stories to others showreels, it’s time we started living in the real world and outside the bubble of an App. I conceptualised this collection and campaign to raise awareness of the importance of disconnecting from technology, I selected influencers making waves in the mental health and mental wellbeing space to raise the profile of the campaign by asking them to share photographs their cases on their platforms and open up the conversation around what they do #SwitchOff from technology and social media. 10% of profits were donated to The Samaritans from the campaign.
