Graduate knitwear collection which embodies the dramatic, terraced landscapes of Northern Vietnam, using bold surface textures explored through deep ripples to a maximised scale. The design aesthetic is also inspired by the ‘patchwork’ style architecture witnessed whilst exploring rural Vietnam and the Japanese Setouchi Islands, which featured traditional wood structures mended using scraps of metal, corrugated iron and plastics, creating an eclectic surface patchwork of textures and colours. The collection has encouraged resilience, experimentation and adapting to new methods due to completing the final outcomes working from home during lockdown. This has taught me patience, determination and a desire to keep pushing my skills and knowledge, in order to explore knitwear to its' maximum potentials.
