"Vision is always ahead of execution." By observing the historic architecture of the Rochester-Kent area, I was driven by such admiration and intrigue, that I felt my usual style of drawing wouldn't document the true essence of my interaction with the area and its architecture. The vision was to use a foreign medium, like oil pastels, to vaguely explore the barrel of 'Abstract' All of these were done on card in order to retain the vibrancy of the colours. Oil pastels still produce a smoothness like oil, but are equally as sensitive to touch (basically even an eyelash could leave an imprint if care isn't taken).
