Hold on Scent

In “Hold on Scent”, olfactory science meets the humble loom. “Hold on Scent” is a series of five works for indoor use, all individually woven by hand and vary in size. Various cultures have used herbs, woods and flowers to make wreaths and wall hangings in houses and places of worship to uplift and deodorise. The aim of this project is to draw from that tradition and build upon the design principle of Bauhaus, which considered weaving as the ideal platform for multi- sensory expression. The scents featured in these pieces are cinnamon, vetiver and cardamom. Each plant has been carefully selected to provide optimal scent longevity, mood enhancing effects, and harmony within the composition.
